Your chance to comment at exhibition on Friday and Saturday

A public exhibition is being held at the Distillery Lane Centre on Friday and Saturday, March 11 and 12, to show off the latest proposals for Fulham Reach, the development planned for vacant land on Hammersmith's riverside next to Frank Banfield Park.

The site was originally called Hammersmith Embankment, but developers St George decided to rename it Fulham Reach to distinguish it from the neighbouring Hammersmith Embankment offices, and also to pick up on the Fulham Reach conservation area and political ward it sits within.

The exhibition, running from noon till 5pm on Friday and 11am till 3pm on Saturday will be open to everybody and will provide an opportunity to view the proposals for the site and make your comments.

Members of the design team will be on hand to talk through the proposals.

A planning application for Fulham Reach was lodged with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham on February 7 and it has now been registered and given a registration number of 2011/00407/COMB.

The application revealed that St George hopes to build 750 residential units in eight blocks, ranging from three to nine storeys high, with a residents' gym and pool and basement parking for cars, motorcycles and bikes.

Plans also include boat club and boat storage facilities, a pontoon extending into the Thames, landscaped open space and works to the Thames Path. There will also be commercial space including riverside restaurants.

St George has already built a number of developments along the river, including Imperial Wharf in the east of Fulham, Battersea Reach by Wandsworth Bridge and the latest at Kew Bridge.

This exhibition follows a community planning weekend in November and a community forum in January. Local people can also give their views on the plans on the Fulham Reach website.
