Says it is running short of tinned veg, fruit, meat and powdered milk

The foodbank says more than 6,040 packages containing food and other essentials were handed out between March last year and this April – up on 4,400 the previous year.
The charity provides packages which last for three days at a time. Among those in need, 1,750 children relied on the packages, not included those fed during the charity’s school holiday clubs.
H&F residents have risen to the challenge - 46 tonnes of food were donated and more than 100 people volunteered during the last financial year. Local schools, businesses, and faith groups have also provided vital support.
"It is deeply concerning that we are still seeing an increase in the number of three-day emergency food supplies provided to local people in crisis," says Daphine Aikens, Chief Executive of H&F Foodbank.
"Anybody could find themselves in need of a foodbank. Every week people are referred to us after being hit by something unavoidable - such as illness, a delay in benefit payment or an unexpected bill – which means food is simply unaffordable.
"It really is only with the community’s support that we’re able to provide vital emergency help. Thank you so much to everyone who already donates time, food and money to help local people.
"If you’re not already involved, we’d love to hear from you."
To receive a food package from H&F Foodbank people need a voucher which can picked up from a range of different organisations, including social workers, GPs, the Citizens Advice Bureau and Children’s centres.
