Just in time for their 'Best of 2008' season
Watermans has announced that is has cut ten pence off the price of cinema tickets in line with the reduction in VAT announced by the Chancellor and came into effect on Mon 1 December. The venue has taken the lead in passing on the VAT reduction to its customers.
The cinema programme offers a huge selection of films that cater for audiences of all ages and tastes. Watermans is bringing back the “Best of 2008” films of this year, including, The Kite Runner (19 &20 Dec); The Duchess (20 & 21 Dec); Mamma Mia! & The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (19 – 22 Dec) so if you missed them earlier, now is your chance to catch them cheaper!
Alongside the hits, the general cinema programme continues with highlights from this year’s London Film Festival, including The Baader Meinhof Complex (5 – 11Dec), Hunger (7, 8 & 11Dec), whose director, Steve McQueen received The Douglas Hickox Award for ‘Best Debut Director’ at the recent, 11th British Independent Film Awards, whilst Israeli filmmaker, Ari Folman’s, Waltz With Bashir (12 – 18 Dec), won the ‘Best Foreign Film’ category.
They have a great selection of movies in their Saturday morning Family Cinema season and the good news is that up to two ADULTS GO FREE with one paying child! Forthcoming attractions include: Igor (13 Dec) and Santa Claus: The Movie. (20 Dec).
Meanwhile, the Thursday 11am ‘Parents and Babies’ screenings continues to be popular. Upcoming shows in this slot are Julia (11 Dec) with Tilda Swinton & Waltz With Bashir (18 Dec).
And if you make time to come in early you can catch their Best of Summer Uni West London Exhibition which runs from Thurs11 Dec 2008 -Sunday 11 Jan 09 in the gallery and is absolutely free. The exhibition showcases photography, video and animation work produced by young people through the Summer Uni programme in West London. Summer Uni, partners are Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Ealing and Richmond with support by Summer Uni, London.
