St Peter’s Church in Black Lion Lane is hosting two Christmas Concerts this week, on Thursday 7 December and Saturday 9 December.

On Thursday, Opera Integra is visiting to present an evening of winter-themed songs and carols.

The first half of the concert consists of Menotti’s charming Christmas opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors, about the Three Kings journeying to Bethlehem,.

It is followed by a second half of winter-inspired songs and carols, including some inviting the audience w to join in and sing along.

The concert begins at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £20, including a mince pie and glass of wine or soft drink are available online or at the door.

On Saturday the church will be visited by West London chamber choir Petros Singers to celebrate a Merry Hammersmithmas!

The choir's Christmas concert this year celebrates the music of composers who have lived and worked in Hammersmith and the surrounding area. It will feature a wide range of seasonal music, from Holst, Howells and Gardner – who served consecutively as Director of Music at St Paul’s Girls’ School from 1905 to 1975 – to contemporary composers, Cecilia McDowell and Kerensa Briggs.

The evening, which begins at 7.30pm, promises audience carols, candlelight, mulled wine and mince pies to welcome in the festivities. Tickets, priced £20 or £17 concessions (people aged 60 and over or registered disabled/unwaged) and £5 for young people 30 or under, are available here.
