24-Hour Tennis Coaching Session At The Park Club

Max Hastings completes marathon challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

Max Hastings (LTA qualified tennis coach) taught a non-stop 24-hour tennis marathon at The Park Club, last friday in an attempt to beat the current world record.

The event raised a considerable sum of money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that Max has supported for many years.

Tim Slater Sales & Marketing Director of The Park Club said "All in all the tournament, the 24 hour tennis coaching challenge and the Gala Dinner with Charity Auction and entertainment from Harry on Piano and the Brit Pack were a massive success and our congratulations to to Max Hastings, the Park Club events team and Park Club members for all their efforts and their generous support."

During the 24 hour period Max conducted lessons in the form of 48 half hour slots made up of a variety of adults and children, individual and group sessions.

Those taking part in the attempt were required to bid for each available slot in a silent auction and the highest bidder winning their chosen slot.

To mark the conclusion of the attempt, The Park Club held a Charity Dinner and Dance on Saturday evening. Highlights of the evening will included “Harry on piano” as well as a Grand Auction - all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support along with campaigning for better cancer care for all.
