Dates for summer
Ealing Council’s Michael Flanders Centre, Acton, is running its ‘Forget Me Not”’ dementia cafe throughout the summer and local people who have dementia or are supporting individuals with dementia, are invited to come along and see what is on offer.
The dementia café aims to give people the chance to share their experiences, make friends, find out about council services and have fun in a relaxed and caring environment. The café is run by centre staff and volunteers, all of whom are committed to supporting people living with dementia and memory loss.
The café is open to both existing users of the centre and to people who drop in. It takes place one Sunday a month from 11 am to 4pm.
The summer dates are:
• Sunday, 14 June
• Sunday 26 July
• Sunday 23 August.
Councillor Hitesh Tailor, cabinet member for health and adult services, said: “The Forget Me Not café has been running for two years now and is very popular. Living with dementia can be lonely and our café helps to cut through this isolation by giving people a place where they are understood, accepted and supported in a friendly and social environment.
“As a council, we recently signed up to the Ealing Dementia Action Alliance and our café is just one of the ways that we are committed to helping people with dementia, and their carers, to live well. We hope to see you there.”
