Volunteer For The Ealing Half Marathon

You don't have to run to be involved

Organisers of the 2nd Ealing Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 29th September 2013, have put out a call for people wishing to be involved and to contribute to the race without running the 13.1 miles to become a volunteer.

All volunteers receive a free breakfast, staff t-shirt, memento medal and training, plus a free place in the 2014 race if they would like one.

There are almost 500 volunteer places available on race day including race marshals, water station teams, baggage and race village co-ordinators, race pacers and traffic co-ordinators, all details can be found on the website www.ealinghalfmarathon.com/volunteer.

Full training is given with training sessions being held on 5 occasions in the two weeks leading up to the race. The training sessions take place at locations in Ealing and Hanwell during the week and at weekends, and volunteers are requested to attend one session only to receive the full brief and details.

Event Co-Ordinator Sandra Courtney commented: “Volunteering is a great opportunity to feel part of the event and to meet new like-minded people, as well as a fun and rewarding experience. Please help us spread the #EalingFeeling by becoming a volunteer and showing your support, all you have to do is complete the volunteers form on the website and then someone from the team will get in touch with you.

”We are also offering a free race place to all our 2013 volunteers who feel inspired to take part in the race next year, and hope that this will be an incentive for some volunteers to put on their running shoes and start training themselves.”

Places are still available for the 2013 race, please go to www.ealinghalfmarathon.com for further race details and to sign up now.
