Offering a 'domestic' take on World War One

Barons Court Theatre is marking the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One with Luck of the Draw by Richard Franklin.

This poignant and sometimes shocking short play is a 'domestic' take on WW1. It is based on letters from Cyril Kimber in the Front Line in 1915 and Reminiscences of William Smith, son of a Norwich baker, and written in his 93rd year, after serving in both World Wars.

Cyril and William are worlds apart, but the mud and the music are common ground in their horrific experience, and draws them to recognise their common humanity. It should link us all in brotherhood.

Performances run from Friday 16 - Sunday 25 November at 7.45pm with an additional matinee on Saturday 17 November at 2.30pm.

This month is also the final run for magician Richard Leigh's Cavern 13 - The Superstitious Magic Show.

The beguiling Richard Leigh is your magician in residence with an equal mix of precision and fast – paced tricks. His stage magic is big and bold, This is a show that has more than the wave of the wand, with themed magic covering topics of superstition, good and bad luck.

A bubbling cauldron of myths.

Richard presents his own brand of conversational magic in London. It's his 15th sensational year in residency at the Barons Court Theatre with the magic shows.

You can enter Cavern 13 on three Sundays, 11, 18 and 25 November at 2.30pm. The performance lasts one hour and 15 minutes without an interval and is suitable for all those over eight years of age.
