This festive season’s most spectacular show, a big budget adaptation of J.M Barrie's Peter Pan, starring none other than Boy George, comes to Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo in the first weekend in January.

Boy George heads a cast of 50 as Peter Pan's villainous nemesis Captain Hook, alongside circus performers offering aerial stunts, a giant battle giving the audience the chance to throw cannonballs at Hook's ship and a death-defying escape from a locked water tank by comedy star Jordan Conway playing Peter Pan. The cast also includes a large troupe of Irish and Highland dancers.

Boy George, who says he is enjoying showing off his evil side, makes his first entrance in a life size galleon which sails around the stage in front of a water-wall fountain.

He says, “Although the show has traditional pantomime elements, it is so much more, being a mix of cirque and spectacular event … and I get a chance to fight a giant animatronic crocodile. What's not to like?”

There will be four performances of Peter Pan, on Friday January 5 at 7pm, Saturday 6 at 1pm and 5.30pm and Sunday 7 at 1pm. Find out more and buy tickets here.

There is also still time to catch the last few performances of this year’s smash hit pantomime, Cinderella at the Lyric, described by critics as “buoyant, playful and daft”, “warm-hearted” and “riotous and joyful”. The panto continues on Tuesday January 2 with two shows at 2pm and 6pm, Wednesday January 3 at 2pm and 7pm, Thursday 4 and Friday 5 at 7pm and two final shows on Saturday January 6 at 2pm and 6pm.
