Council Plan More Bikehangers Across The Borough

Seven more to be placed in Ealing, Hanwell, Greenford Acton and Chiswick

The council have published a traffic order amending a number of parking schemes across the borough to allow for the installation of seven new bikehangers.

These will be placed in existing parking places within controlled parking zones. The hangers provide secure bike parking for residents unable to store bikes on their property. They are 2.6 metres long and 2 metres wide. They are half the length of a parking bay and can store up to six bikes.

The hangers will be Argyle Road in West Ealing, Billetts Hart Close and Lawn Gardens in Hanwell. Buckingham Close in Ealing, Cumberland Road in Acton, Mansell Road in Greenford and Fletcher Road in Chiswick.

The council says it selects the location for bikehangers based on demand, number of bike thefts in the local area and distribution across the borough.

Applications for spaces in the borough’s bikehanger are managed by Cyclehoop – click here to find your nearest hanger. A maximum of two spaces can be allocated per person. If a bike hangar is under-used, then Cyclehoop can give extra spaces if needed.
