Charity pancake race sees the media beating the politicians

Local MPs took a battering as Westminster’s journalists won the 2018 Parliamentary pancake race.

Rupa Huq, who represents Ealing Central and Acton, made a valiant effort alongside her team of colleagues from the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

However, the media team took the prize with the Sun’s political editor Tom Newton Dunn crossing the line first, following 11 laps of the course in Victoria Tower Gardens.

The race between Members and Westminster journalists, which is now in its 21st year was in support of disability charity Rehab, a charity which provides services for over 20,000 adults and children with mental and physical disabilities.

The Ealing Central and Acton MP lamented the first loss for the MP’s for the first time since 2015 and reflected on twitter that it may "Not the most clever idea for me to run it in heels either. Doh!"
