Councillor Gary Malcolm, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Ealing Council, has launched an online survey inviting residents to share their views on local priorities and council services. The initiative is part of the party’s early preparations for the next round of local elections, scheduled for May 2026.

The survey seeks feedback on a range of issues, including public safety, housing, environmental protection, and the management of public spaces. According to Cllr Malcolm, the responses will help shape the Liberal Democrats’ manifesto and inform their approach to council engagement over the coming years.

“Asking the public what they want to happen in Ealing and how we can improve Council services is a part of our commitment to community-first politics,” said Cllr Malcolm. “With less than a year to go until the local elections, we are beginning to prepare our manifesto and would like residents’ input.”

The Liberal Democrats currently serve as the Official Opposition to the Labour administration in Ealing. The party has highlighted several recent campaigns where it claims to have influenced council decisions following community engagement. These include efforts to reverse streetlight dimming policies, address housing concerns at Meath and Marston Court, and oppose development plans on Warren Farm, a site noted for its ecological significance.

Other cited actions include advocating for the dismissal of underperforming tree pruning contractors and resisting proposed changes to protections for Metropolitan Open Land, including areas such as the Ealing Riding School grounds.

The survey is open to all Ealing residents and is expected to take approximately five minutes to complete. It can be accessed via the Ealing Liberal Democrats Residents Survey 2025.
