Residents are invited to attend a community event hosted by the Metropolitan Police’s West Area Basic Command Unit (BCU), as part of the force’s ongoing reform programme, A New Met for London: Phase Two.

The event will take place on Monday, 27 October, at the University of West London, St Mary’s Road, W5 5RF (entrance via The Park), from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:00 pm.

This borough-wide engagement session is one of a series being held across London in the lead-up to Christmas, designed to strengthen relationships between the police and the communities they serve. It offers residents a chance to hear directly from senior officers, raise questions, and learn more about how the Met is addressing crime, improving standards, and rebuilding trust.

The evening will begin with informal networking from 6:00 pm, allowing attendees to speak with representatives from various departments across the Met. At 7:00 pm, senior officers from the Management Board and West Area BCU will present updates on A New Met for London: Phase Two, outlining key priorities and progress. A Q&A session with local officers will follow from 7:30 pm, providing a platform for residents to share concerns and contribute to local policing discussions.

The West Area BCU covers both Ealing and Hounslow boroughs and has been actively involved in delivering reforms under the Met’s three-year plan, which was launched in response to the 2023 Casey Review. The plan focuses on crime reduction, community engagement, and raising professional standards across the force.
