Vicious attack on commuter
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public’s help after a man was bitten by a dog onboard a Tube train.
The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Monday, 20 May, onboard a westbound Piccadilly line train travelling between Ealing Common London Underground (LU) station and Park Royal.
PC Frank Hayes said: “The victim, a 55-year-old man from Brent, boarded the busy train at Acton Town and stood up until a seat became available.
“A man boarded the train at the next stop, Ealing Common, with a Rottweiler and another large dog, which is described as a boxer-cross breed.
“When the victim attempted to sit down opposite the dogs, the boxer-breed snapped at his crotch causing three puncture wounds that required hospital treatment.”
Officers are currently carrying out extensive enquiries, including viewing CCTV, and are appealing for members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
The owner of the dogs, who officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident, is described as a black man, aged 35 to 40, around 5’10” tall, with an afro.
He had a green comb sticking out of his hair and was wearing dark clothing at the time.
