Youths Attack Man on Tube With Laughing Gas Canister


Victim had intervened when he saw trio being abusive to other passengers

A man has been assaulted by a group three youths after he intervened when he spotted them being abusive to other passengers on a Central Line train.

He was travelling alone eastbound between Ealing Broadway and North Acton when he was set upon by the trio on Wednesday 1 February at around 7.25am.

The man had spotted them using laughing gas and abusing other passengers and went to intervene, but they attacked him, hitting him on the head with a medium-sized gas canister. He suffered a cut to the head which required hospital treatment. The youths got off the train at North Acton station and ran off.

 

British Transport Police are appealing for information about the incident and would like to speak to anyone who was travelling at that time and has relevant information.
