Witness to Nick Padget Killing Sought

Pub goer may hold key to finding how Chiswick man died

Detectives investigating the manslaughter of Nicholas Padget are issuing further CCTV images in a bid to trace a witness who may hold information vital to the inquiry.

The image is of a man, slightly balding with dark hair, standing inside the pub. It is believed that he witnessed the altercation which started inside the premises and led to the assault outside the pub. Officers are keen to speak to him, in confidence, about what he may have seen.

DC Neil Grant said: "Previous appeals to trace this man have proved unsuccessful and despite the poor quality of the images we hope he will recognise himself and come forward to police. I would urge this man to contact us as he may be able to tell us the circumstances that led up to Nicholas' death."

The 27 year old Chiswick man was killed with a single punch during an altercation that took place outside O’Neill’s Pub on Ealing Common in July earlier this year. Nick Padget suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at Ealing Hospital the next day, Sunday July 2nd.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is due to stand trial for manslaughter early next year.

If you are the person featured in the CCTV stills, or know who he may be, contact the Incident Room in strictest confidence on 020 8358 0400 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Friends and colleagues of Nick can post messages of condolence and support to his family on a web-site - http://nickpadget.org/ .
