Ealing To Help Other Councils With Children's Services

Council to share good practice and help with training

Ealing Council has been awarded £2million to develop services for vulnerable children and work with other boroughs to improve their services.

The latest phase of the programme, called Partners in Practice, will fund eight councils that have been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, including Ealing. Ealing was also rated Outstanding for the services we deliver to Ealing Care Leavers.

The other authorities that have been selected include: Camden, North Tyneside and South Tyneside in partnership, Essex, Stockport, Hackney, East Riding of Yorkshire and Doncaster Trust.

Social workers from Ealing will share good practice as well as giving hands-on training to children’s services staff working in other councils.

Carolyn Fair, interim director of children’s services said: “I am very pleased that our children’s services has been recognised by the government as a leader in the sector.   Our social workers are among the most respected in the country and I am confident that we can help councils at risk of service failure to improve their practice so they can better protect children and help vulnerable families.”
