The Mulberry Centre is in the grounds of the West Mid

The Mulberry Centre has launched its Christmas Appeal, ‘Hope Under the Tree.’
This festive fundraising initiative, from the charity based in the grounds of the West Middlesex University Hospital, aims to provide support to those facing the challenges of cancer this festive season.
For many individuals and families, the holidays can be a particularly challenging time, especially when dealing with the emotional and financial burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis.
‘Hope Under the Tree’ seeks to bring a little light and comfort during this time by raising funds and delivering practical gifts, emotional support, and essential care services to those in need.
Running through November and December, the ‘Hope Under the Tree’ appeal will feature a variety of fundraising activities and community-driven events, including a Tree of Hope to which supporters can donate a personalised Christmas bauble with their own message to add to the Mulberry Centre Christmas tree, in dedication to a loved one. The baubles are priced at £2.50 each, with all proceeds going towards the charity’s free services.
The Mulberry Centre will be hosting its very own Christmas market on the 4 December from 12pm-7pm. The event will showcase a selection of craft and food stalls and a live music medley from Barnes Choir.
The charity is encouraging local pubs and restaurants to join the ‘Hope Under the Tree’ Appeal by opting to add a charity-based Spin the Wheel to their bar on selected dates throughout the festive season.
There will also be a series of festive-themed craft events from 2-6 December, with the market and main event day taking place on Wednesday 4 December. Events also include a bake sale, and a festive jumper day in which local businesses and schools can participate.
"The Christmas season is a time of joy and giving, but for many affected by cancer, it can also be a time of immense emotional and financial strain," said Daniel O’Brien, Head of Fundraising and Engagement at The Mulberry Centre. "Through 'Hope Under the Tree,' we want to remind those in our community that they are not alone. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide crucial support to those who need it most this Christmas."
All proceeds from the appeal will directly fund The Mulberry Centre's wide range of services, including counselling, complementary therapies, wellbeing workshops, and bereavement support - all provided free of charge to those the charity supports.
