But another strike is due to begin on Monday evening
Tube services are back to normal on Thursday morning, with TfL reporting a good service on all lines, apart from minor delays on the Central line.
Mike Brown, Managing Director of London Underground has thanked the public for their patience during the last two days' disruption, saying: "Staff on Tube, bus, DLR, London Overground, tram, rail and river services and Travel Ambassadors from across TfL worked hard to get you to your destination.
" We will continue to urge the RMT to work with us to help shape the future of the Tube rather than continue to simply disrupt your journeys."
The strike began on Monday evening after talks between Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union & London Underground (LU) failed after only two hours and both parties left the conciliatory service Acas.
The union say the strikes are necessary to prevent ticket office closures which they believe compromise safety.
A second strike is due to take place from 9pm on Monday May 5. This strike action will take place ahead of a May Day event in memory of former RMT leader Bob Crow, who died of a suspected heart attack on March 11, aged 52. The event will also be in remembrance of Tony Benn, the politician and campaigner who died several days after Mr Crow.
Mike Brown says " Should the RMT’s planned strike next week go ahead, it will affect journeys from Monday evening through to Thursday evening. We will again run as many trains as we can to keep London moving."
