Transport Disruption Over The New Year Holidays


Train and tube services affected by engineering works

If you are planning to travel over the next few weekends the following lines are affected by engineering works.

District Line

Saturday 31 December, Sunday 1 and Monday 2 January

No service between Earls Court and Kensington Olympia as part of a reduced Bank Holiday service.

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January

No service between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road, or between Earl's Court and Kensington Olympia.

South West Trains

New Year's Eve - Saturday 31 December

South West Trains will operate a revised Saturday service. A special service will operate after midnight for New Year’s Day celebrations.

New Year's Day - Sunday 1 January 2017

South West Trains will operate a revised Sunday service with changes as shown below.
Extra trains will run on the following routes during the early hours of New Year’s Day for revellers travelling home from the New Year celebrations in Central London.
• London Waterloo to Kingston via Wimbledon
• London Waterloo to Kingston via Richmond and Twickenham
• London Waterloo to Guildford via Woking
• London Waterloo to Basingstoke

Once the special New Year service has run, part of London Waterloo will be closed and some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.

-Long distance services and suburban services which normally pass through Wimbledon will run to a near normal timetable on the lines which remain open.
-All services which normally pass through Twickenham, Hounslow or Staines will not run between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction. The extra afternoon and evening services to and from Kingston via Hounslow will not run.
-Passengers travelling from Clapham Junction to Vauxhall and London Waterloo should use train services from platform 10.
-Queenstown Road station will have no service and passengers should use other stations nearby.

Monday 2 January 2017

South West Trains will run a Saturday timetable, revised for engineering work.

Part of London Waterloo  will be closed all day today and some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.

-Long distance services and suburban services which normally pass through Wimbledon will run to a near normal Saturday timetable on the lines which remain open.

-All services which normally pass through Twickenham, Hounslow or Staines  will not run between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.

-The circular service to and from London Waterloo via Brentford  and via Twickenham  will not run. Passengers use other train services.

-Passengers travelling from Clapham Junction to Vauxhall and London Waterloo should use train services from platform 10.

- Queenstown Road  station will have no service

Wednesday 28, Thursday 29 December, all day, and until 9.30pm Friday 30 December

No service between Aldgate and Gloucester Road (via Victoria) while track and drainage replacement is carried out in the Earl's Court area. A special District line service operates between Edgware Road and Upminster (via Victoria).

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January

No service between Hammersmith and Tower Hill. A special Circle line service operates between Edgware Road and Barking (via Victoria)

Piccadilly line engineering works

Saturday 31 December

No service between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, use Metropolitan line services instead.

Central Line Weekend Engineering works

No planned engineering works

No planned engineering works
