Tara tie with opponents at Tir Chonail Park

Local club well on their way to Junior Championship Final

Tara will travel to Ladywell on Saturday 30 September to play Green Isles in the Junior Championship Final and if this League Fixture is anything to go by, it promises to be a cracking game.

Louise Clarke was the first to register a goal for Tara, followed by a couple of points by Caitriona O Brien. Green Isles went on to score 2-0 before Tara's Fidelma Groogan scored a goal on her debut to give Tara a 2-2 to 2-0 lead at half time.

Tara knew they would have to work hard to hold onto the lead against the breeze and influential Eileen O Boyle for Green Isles lobbed many balls into the Tara backline from the restart. Green Isles piled the pressure on and Tara goalie Becky Purcell pulled off some fine last ditch saves to keep Tara in the game. Margaret Heneghan and Caitriona O Brien also shone for Tara in a hard working, competitive match. Green Isels worked hard to score their 2 points in the second half to leave the scores level at the final whistle.
