Local school children take part in mock trial competition

Excited pupils from schools in secondary schools in Hounslow are preparing to take part in the local heat of the Magistrates’ Mock Trial Competition 2005/6 at Feltham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 25 February 2006.

So many schools in the area have entered the competition that there will be two separate heats, one in the morning starting at 9:30 am, the second commencing at 1:15 pm.

Schools participating in the morning are:

Lampton School
Heathland School
St. Marks R C School
Gumley House School

Schools participating in the afternoon are:

Heston Community School
Green School
Brentford School for Girls

Certificates will be presented to all students and a cup to the winning team at 12:20pm and 5:25pm at the end of each heat – photographers are welcome at 12 o’clock.

A spokesperson for Hounslow magistrates and staff said "We are very proud to be hosting this event once again; local magistrates really enjoy working with young people from local schools and have already visited a number of schools to give presentations about the magistracy to assist the teams in their preparation."
