It's A Morris Minor Miracle

Sleuthing bus driver reunites local music teacher with lost car

A local music teacher feared the worst when her beloved Morris Minor disappeared not to be seen for weeks. She was overjoyed when the car was returned to her thanks to the efforts of a bus driver.

Rhuna Martin has had a long career as an inspirational tutor having taught, amongst others, Julian Lloyd Webber. She was devastated when her vintage Morris Minor stolen from outside her house in Westcroft Square on the borders of Chiswick and Hammersmith.

Weeks later everyone had given up hope when out of the blue she had a call from the Morris Minor Club who told her a bus driver had noticed an abandoned vehicle.

Keith Carpenter had spotted the car on Bollo Lane and looked up the Morris Minor web site
and saw a vehicle had been reported stolen from the area. On his next day off he took the trouble to go back to the site and verified the number plate and then contacted the Morris Minor club who notified Rhuna of the discovery.

Car and owner were reunited and last Thursday and a delighted Rhuna treated one very special
bus driver to dinner. Rhuna has renamed him The Sherlock Holmes Super Sleuth and said today that she was so impressed by his 'joined up thinking' and 'overwhelmed by his kindness'.
