Thanks For Being Green Now BOGOF

Council encourages residents to stay green as the leaves turn brown

Hounslow’s green-fingered residents have recycled a record amount of garden waste this summer and are being encouraged to stay green as the leaves turn brown.

As a way of saying thank you, and to help residents keep recycling into the autumn months, the council is slashing the cost of its biodegradable garden waste sacks.

Throughout September, anyone who is planning an end of summer garden clear up can take advantage of a special ‘buy one get one free’ (BOGOF) offer on garden sacks.

Cllr Barbara Reid, the council’s executive member for environment and planning, said, “I am delighted that more residents are recycling more garden waste. The council is committed to making Hounslow a greener, smarter borough and making it easier for residents to recycle will help us to achieve this.

“Hounslow residents recycled more garden waste over the summer than ever before and we hope to see this trend continuing throughout the autumn months.”

Anyone who wants to make sure that they’ve got enough bags to tidy up their autumn leaves can take advantage of the council’s special offer and purchase two packs of five sacks for just £2.50.

Sacks can be purchased from local libraries or by calling ECT Recycling on 020 8813 3191.
