Local Bobbies Triumph in Annual Tough Guy Challenge


Team from across the borough wins award for the fourth year

A team of Hounslow Borough Police officers have won the Annual Tough Guy event for the fourth year in a row.

The officers, from stations across Hounslow including Chiswick and Brentford, competed competed in the Police Nationwide event which took place in Perton, Shropshire. 

The team completed a 10 country mile cross country run followed by a 2 mile obstacle course, plunged into ice cold water on a number of occasions, negotiate electrified fences, climb 8 ft walls and crawl under barbed wire plus other obstacles.


The Hounslow team finished first out of 132 in the police event in a combined time of 15hrs 35 minutes 33 seconds, the next nearest police team was 5hrs and 6 minutes slower.

Of note was PC James Brown who after the run was in 12th place and eventually finished 42nd out of about 4500 competitors in his first attempt at the event.
