Further Production In Factory Quarter

30 new homes planned for former Prestolite carpark

Comments have been invited from residents about plans to redevelop the carpark at the south end of Warple Way.

The application submitted to Ealing Council is for a four storey building housing 30 self-contained units. These units would include four one bedroom flats; 20 x two bedroom flats; six maisonettes all with balconies, affordable units and a 'health facility'. There would be pedestrian access onto Warple Way with interior and surface parking for 103 cars (30 for residents and 5 for health facility), cycle parking, refuse storage, and private roof-top gardens.

A Greenend Road resident said, "We believe that the Factory Quarter [on Larden Road] is now at least a storey higher than the original building. We could only just see the top of the old building from our attic bedroom, now we can clearly see a whole floor of penthouses. We're worried they may do the same with this four storey building. We're also worried that having built 30 units they will move on filling in the remainder of this strip of land."

The land used to be the car park for the former Prestolite Building.

Residents have been given three weeks to comment on the plans which will be put before Ealing Council's Planning Committee on 23rd September.
