Free Parking on Christmas Eve

Charges to be waived in Chiswick and Brentford

Hounslow Council have announced that the borough's car parks and on street parking spaces are to be free of charge this Christmas Eve.

The move is design to boost takings at local businesses over the festive period.

The council is also waiving the 20p convenience charge for using RingGo to pay for parking from Thursday 20 to Saturday 22 December.

Cllr Ed Mayne, cabinet member for community safety and regulatory services at the council, said: 'We think it’s important we do what we can to make sure Father Christmas and his helpers are ready for the big day. Christmas is frantic enough for most, so I hope this makes it a bit easier.

'I hope people will take advantage of our free Christmas Eve parking to find the last few items they need for Christmas day or kick off the celebrations early.'

The waiver only applies to Pay and Display parking on Christmas Eve. Parking in residential Controlled Parking Zones requiring permits will still be restricted.
