Ealing rates of coronary heart disease are significantly higher than the national average. That’s the bad news…
The good news is that we can avoid it. To find out how, residents are invited to a free open day on Thursday 15 February at the Priory Community Centre, Acton Lane.
A dozen agencies, including the British Heart Foundation, Cardiac Care Network and Smoking Cessation, will be on hand with expert advice on how to prevent, manage and treat the Coronary Heart Disease (CHD).
Between 1998 and 2002 the rate of death from CHD was 7.8 per cent higher than the average for England and Wales.
Information sessions run from 2-6.30pm giving people the chance to chat about their lifestyle, get tips on giving up smoking and how diet will help their heart.
From 7-9.30pm Ealing Council’s health, housing and adult social services scrutiny panel will host an open meeting investigating what more can be done to reduce CHD in Ealing.
