An illustrated talk by James Wisdom using manorial records, maps and enlarged details from historic prints and drawings; this is an updated version of the talk he gave at St Nicholas’ Church in May.

Usual annual get-together - small contributions of seasonal food to share will be very welcome, with drinks on sale. Our bookstall offers a chance for last-minute present buying and we’ll have jolly things to do with a local history theme.

Annual Battlefield Walks, Battles of Brentford and Turnham Green, 1642

Led by Simon Marsh and Stephen Porter. For the Battle of Brentford meet at the Magistrates’ Court in Brentford at 11am. Following a lunch break, the Battle of Turn-ham Green walk leaves Turnham Green underground station at 2pm.

Hogarth and the Performing Arts: Cultural Contrasts in 18th Century London   An entertaining talk/performance by Jeremy Barlow in the Michael Room at St Michael and All Angels Bedford Park at 8.00pm. A special fund-raising event promoted by the William Hogarth Trust to support the Hogarth’s House project.
