Tickets available now for performance and champagne reception
The Ancora Duo, local girl Anne Allen and Sarah Freestone, are playing a charity concert for HAFAD - Hammersmith and Fulham Action on Disability - at All Saints Church in Fulham on Saturday April 21.
Anne, who has performed for Sir Elton John and David Beckham and played most major venues in the UK, was keen to assist HAFAD having twice beaten bone cancer.
Anne says: " I live nearby to HAFAD and often see the young disabled children attending the youth scheme there, you don’t realise how lucky you are, even with what I’ve been through, until you see some of the cards they’ve been dealt."
Anne who has had the bone removed from her left leg and replaced with a titanium rod adds: " Disability can affect us in so many ways when you are least expecting it, HAFAD is like a safety net, without them many people could well lose their way."
All Saints Church, by Putney Bridge will provide the graceful setting for the concert, consisting of music by Mozart, Piazzolla, Granados and Ibert. The event will commence with a champagne reception at nearby Pryors Bank café.
HAFAD Director, Kamran Mallick says: " We are delighted to be working with our neighbour Anne Allen to put on such a prestigious event. Every penny will go towards essential services for disabled people."
James Coke, Fundraiser at HAFAD says: " We are always looking at new ways to raise money and Anne and Sarah’s involvement is fantastic. They are highly acclaimed musicians who I’m sure will perform a wonderful show at such an iconic church."
Ticket for this event, which is sponsored by local estate agent Aspire, cost £50 each including the champagne and canape reception, and all proceeds go to HAFAD.
