Gunnersbury Park & Museum will hold a public meeting for residents on Friday 24 April, offering the first major opportunity for the community to discuss this summer’s events programme since Hounslow Council’s licensing panel published its long-awaited decision imposing new restrictions on large-scale concerts at the park.

The drop-in session, running from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, will allow residents to speak directly with event organisers, hear details of the 2026 programme, raise concerns and learn about resident ticket discounts. Attendees will also be invited to a private viewing of Gunnersbury Unlocked, the museum’s new centenary exhibition.

The meeting follows months of scrutiny triggered by a residents-led licence review earlier this year. That hearing examined noise levels, crowd management, antisocial behaviour, and the cumulative impact of major events on surrounding neighbourhoods. While responsible authorities reported no breaches of existing conditions, residents argued that the scale and frequency of concerts had become intolerable.

The licensing panel has now issued its decision, introducing tighter controls on how events are run. These include revised noise monitoring requirements, additional stewarding outside the event perimeter, and stronger obligations on organisers to manage dispersal and late-night impacts. The panel stopped short of reducing the number of events permitted or reduced allowed decibel levels, but its ruling places clearer limits on how they must be delivered and how organisers must respond to community concerns.

The new conditions are expected to shape the park’s summer programme, making the 24 April meeting particularly significant for residents who want to understand how the changes will be implemented. Gunnersbury Park & Museum says the session is intended to provide transparency and ensure organisers and neighbours can speak directly before the season begins.

Free tickets can be booked via the What’s On page at visitgunnersbury.org, by calling 020 3961 0280, or by visiting the museum in person.

Those unable to attend can stay informed by subscribing to the Gunnersbury Park Events mailing list at info@visitgunnersburypark.org. The park will also continue to publish details of individual virtual public consultations for each major event.
