Video for singer's new release 'Once' shows Cantona dressed as a King
Gunnersbury Park played host recently to two legends from football and rock music as the video for Liam Gallagher's latest release 'Once' was filmed there.
The video, which was filmed inside the Rothschild Room as well as in the grounds of the Park, depicts football legend Eric Cantona playing the role of a 'King', miming to the words of the song.
He is seen drinking wine alone at a table in a grand room, and then 'playing' a grand piano in the midst of what appears to be the aftermath of a party, with balloons and empty bottles strewn around.
He then leaves the house, swapping the dressing town for a velvet cloak and crown, still wearing only his underwear, to go into the grounds and is ushered into a waiting car and driven off by his 'chauffeur'.
Rock 'n' roll star Liam Gallagher acts as Eric Cantona's butler and chauffeur in the new video.
There are also extensive aerial shots of the Museum and grounds.
The Manchester City fan and the Manchester United legend put aside their club rivalries to come together in the video.
The former Oasis frontman tweeted he was "absolutely thrilled" to work with "the last rock 'n' roll footballer".
It is understood the video was filmed about two weeks ago. The Rothschild Room is for hire for corporate events and filming.
The crew were on site early in the morning and filmed for the day.
It appears the public were unaware of the two celebrity visitors. The gardens were not closed off during the filming.
Six weeks ago, Cantona - who won four Premier League titles with United - posted a video of himself singing the song while sitting on a couch.
"When two Manchester legends meet," wrote the Frenchman, calling Once his "song of the year".
It is not the first time Gunnersbury has featured in a film- it was also part of the location for tv series 'This Way Up'.
Several music festivals have also been held in the grounds.
CEO David Bowler commented: “With their undoubted star quality, it was absolute delight to host Liam and Eric here at Gunnersbury.”
