Met Police device used to search for high risk missing person

A very high specification Met Police Drone was recently deployed in Gunnersbury Park.

Members of the local police teams from Southfield and Acton Central wards were looking for high risk missing person on 19 October.

They had a report that the person sought may have been in Gunnersbury Park and they were joined by specially trained officers who were able to operate the device.

This piece of kit had to be operated by a qualified officer with a Drone Pilot Licence, and the camera itself operated by a suitably qualified officer.

The drone itself was equipped with extremely high quality heat sensitive lenses, which could identify human bodies
as heat sources, as well as very precise optical lenses.

Despite the deployment of the drone the person was not located and police are still seeking to trace them.
