Chiswick Teenager Avoids Prison Sentence

After pleading guilty to possession of offensive weapon, common assault, GBH and robbery

A fourteen year old boy who pleaded guilty to stabbing another teenager six times has avoided a prison sentence because of his age.

The Chiswick school boy, who can not be named for legal reasons, admitted to possession of an offensive weapon, common assault and GBH.

He also admitted to robbing four boys in Dolman Road, W4 threatening them with a large kitchen knife four days before the Redless Park attack which left his victim in hospital with multiple knife wounds.

Police believe that violent attack was about 'raising' the defendant's status within the gang to which he belonged but using his conviction as an example would act as a deterrent against others acting in a similar way.

The teenager was given a three year community supervision order at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday 11th December with a warning from the Judge that "only his age had saved him from a lengthy prison sentence."
