Man Stabbed on Chiswick High Road


Teen gang had been harassing girl on night bus

Hounslow Police are asking for witnesses to a stabbing that took place in Chiswick in the early hours of Saturday morning (16th August).

A 35 year old man was stabbed in the face and cheek just after getting off the N9 night bus at Chiswick High Road at 2am.

A group of black youths, who boarded the bus at Hammersmith had been harassing a young woman on the top deck. As she was getting off the bus, the stab victim's girlfriend asked the woman if she was okay. This enraged the group who followed the couple off the bus and attacked the man. The person who carried out the attack was described as mixed race aged about 18 and was wearing dark clothing as were the rest of the group.

As well as the stab wounds the man suffered a collapsed lung. He has since been released from hospital.

Det Insp Kam Sahi, of Hounslow CID, said: "The attack was completely unprovoked and could have had serious consequences. Knife crime is a Metropolitan and Hounslow police priority, the scene of the assault was attended and dealt with promptly. "
