Teenage girls mugged on Stamford Brook Avenue


West End shopping spree ends in tears

Two teenage girls had their shopping stolen as they walked home along Stamford Brook Avenue last week.

The incident happened on Wednesday 23rd August 2006 at 18.40 after the girls had got off a number 94 bus on Bath Road.  As they walked towards Stamford Brook, they noticed two youths following them.

When the fourteen year old girls got to the entrance of Linkenholt Mansions, one of the suspects began to speak to one of the girls. They then pulled her by the arm and grabbed the shopping bags she was carrying before running off towards Vaughan Avenue.

Police are not clear exactly what was stolen, but the girls had been shopping in the West End.

The first suspect was a black youth, 16 years, 5’11”, wearing a large black puffa jacket, blue jeans and a black baseball cap with white piping.

The second suspect was a white youth, 16 years, 5’11”, wearing a black hoody and a white baseball cap.
