Community Constable of the Year Award 2006

Residents asked to nominate their favourite local bobby

The Metropolitan Police this week launched a campaign to give the community the opportunity to nominate their local police officer for the Community Constable of the Year Award.

Residents are asked to nominate officers who have made outstanding contributions to crime prevention initiatives, improving the relationship between the local community and the police.

Supporting the award, Assistant Commissioner Tim Godwin said "The Met sees this competition as an ideal way to highlight and recognise the excellent work being done throughout the year by officers working within the communities of London. I would urge individuals and communities to nominate any officer whom they feel is deserving special recognition"

Nominations close on Friday 12th May 2006.

Forms can be accessed via the Metropolitan Police website www.met.police.uk.

Forms are also available from local police stations, or by writing to: Community Constable of the Year, Publicity Branch, Room 1334, New Scotland Yard, Broadway, London, SW1H 0BG.

The winner will represent the Met at the national Police Reviews Gala Awards later this year.
