Is your local police officer better than the rest?

Met seek nominations for Community Constable of the Year award

The met police are seeking nominations for the Community Constable of the year award, your chance to show your appreciation for your local police officer.

They want you to nominate officers who have made outstanding contributions to crime prevention initiatives, improving the relationship between the local community and the police.

Supporting the award, Assistant Commissioner Tim Godwin said:

“Following the launch of Safer Neighbourhoods, the Met sees this competition as an ideal way to highlight and recognise the excellent work being done throughout the year by officers working within the communities of London.

"I would urge individuals and communities to nominate any officer whom they feel is deserving of this special recognition”.

Last year's winner, Bexley's PC Michael Wearing said: “It is great to win this award and a tribute to the community I serve”.

Nominations close on 27th May.

Forms are available from the Met Police website www.met.police.uk and from local police stations, or by writing to
