Chiswick Foster Carers Still Needed

The Council's fostering team will visit High Road soon

The council’s campaign to find loving homes for the borough’s 315 looked after children is coming to Chiswick.

The fostering team will be on Chiswick High Road, outside Marks and Spencer’s, on Thursday, 14 June, giving people a chance to find out more about becoming a foster carer.

The campaign hopes to recruit more foster carers from the Chiswick area, as currently only five come from the area compared to 29 in Feltham, and 19 in Hounslow.

Cllr Lily Bath, cabinet member for children and families at the London Borough of Hounslow, said:

“Previous events in Chiswick haven’t been successful, so we’re trying somewhere new to see if we can find more families for local children.

"Some people might have preconceptions about fostering so this is a chance to find out more about what it actually involves, and whether it might be something you were interested in.

“There is no such thing as a typical foster carer - they come from all walks of life – so if you think you might be able to help a local child, please come and speak to us.”

The information stall will be on the High Road from 10am-4pm
