Volunteers Wanted By Citizens Advice Bureaux

Help your community by giving some time up

Do you have time to spare? Can you offer 2 days per week (9.30 – 4.00)? Can you travel throughout the London Borough of Hounslow? Do you want to help your community and enable individuals?

Citizens Advice Bureaux volunteers come from a variety of age and ethnic groups and backgrounds and volunteer for a variety of reasons. Their friendly teams are situated in the high streets of Feltham, Hounslow and Chiswick.

Hounslow Citizens Advice Bureaux Service is currently recruiting volunteers to train as Gateway Assessors/Advisers. Their Bureaux provide up to date information and advice using their unique electronic information system, link clients up with other services and agencies, help write letters and complete forms, negotiate with creditors, make phone calls on clients’ behalf etc

"We offer a supported training programme in advice giving skills and information on the problems we are most often asked about – employment, debt, housing, benefits but will cover other enquiries such consumer rights, legal matters, immigration" they say.

If you cannot offer 2 days per week, there are volunteering opportunities in reception and administration work, and becoming a trustee.

If you are interested please e-mail: training@hounslowcab.cabnet.org.uk
