Epic paddle passes by this area on Bank Holiday weekend
If you are planning a trip to London or boating along London’s River Thames this Bank Holiday weekend, then keep an eye out for Justin Miles, who will be kayaking on the river for a special Channel to Channel Challenge, in aid of The Children’s Trust.
Justin, who set off from the Bristol Estuary on 20th August, will reach the London part of his journey and will be paddling from Richmond to Putney on Friday 26th August, leaving at 5.45 pm and arriving at Chiswick Pier at about 8.30 pm. On Saturday, 27th August he will leave Putney at around 1.30 pm to paddle to Battersea and then on to the estuary. Justin will also be joined on this leg of the trip by members of Britain’s leading ‘Stand-Up Paddling’, Active 360, a London based organisation.
The aim of Justin’s special kayaking challenge is not only about raising money for The Children’s Trust, but also creating public awareness about the challenges that children and young people with brain injuries face on a daily basis – which he has also personally experienced.
The Children’s Trust, Tadworth is a national charity which provides care, therapy and education for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation to children with an acquired brain injury.
