W3 shows arms of steel in the battle to find strongest shopper
Acton residents have been revealed as West London’s Strongest Shoppers, according to a local health and fitness company.
John Limpus, of the Urban Vitality Company, held the competition in Chiswick High Road and at Acton Market on Saturday 2nd February.
Market-goers had to hold out a bag of shopping with a straight arm for as long as possible.
Acton’s women were clear winners over the Chiswick bunch, with winner Victoria Garnett of Acton holding her three kilo bag of shopping for two whole minutes.
In the men’s category, Actonite Glen Couper beat Chiswick’s Julio Flores with a wining time of one minute and forty-three seconds. The men had to hold a five kilo bag of shopping.
ActonW3.com’s own editor Clare Gittens narrowly lost out in the last few minutes of the contest, with her strong arm tactics lasting one minute and fifty-five seconds.
The winners of both categories received an Ipod Shuffle.
