Chiswick Shop Worker dragged to his death

Drive of white van charged with murder after fatal crash

The cyclist who was killed on the A4 last week has been named as Naqibullah Aman. The 25 year old father of one was dragged several hundred yards by a white van which was also involved in a series of other collisions.

Mr. Aman was an Afghani who lived in the Twickenham area and was travelling to Chiswick where he worked for shoe-repairers Elias on Chiswick Common Road. It was the first day he had cycled after abandoning the car he usually used in an attempt to save money.

The driver of the van, Malichi Adam-Smith aged 20, had been tracked by CCTV from as far back as Brixton and police vehicles were at the scene when the fatal crash occurred by the junction with Ealing Road. Following the collision, he continued to drive westbound along the A4 and was subsequently stopped by police.

Police understand that prior to the collision the van collided with a number of other vehicles but no serious injuries occurred.

Witnesses to the incident should call Alperton Traffic Garage on 020 8998 5319.
