Police are appealing for two men who came to victim's assistance to contact them
Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident involving a motorcyclist on the A4 Great West Rd, Brentford on Tuesday 4th April 2006.
At approx 12.45 a 58 year old man riding a Honda VFR 400cc fell from his bike as he was pulling out of an exit (from an industrial estate) outside number 981 Great West Rd. As he pulled westwards out of the junction it is believed the bike slipped on gravel.
At the time of the incident the rider got up and dusted himself off. Two men stopped their vehicles and came to his assistance. The man got back on his bike and rode home to Langley, Slough.
Later that afternoon at approximately 16.00 he developed a headache, which gradually got worse. An ambulance was called and he was taken to Wexham Park Hospital. He died in hospital at approx 20.30 on Wednesday 5th April.
A post mortem has yet to be arranged. We await confirmation that all of his family has been informed. The victim's wife was travelling behind him in a car but she did not witness the fall.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident on Tuesday lunchtime to call them. They are also appealing for the two men who stopped to check he was ok to contact them (no descriptions at this stage). It is believed one of the men may have been a health care worker as he suggested the victim should go to hospital.
The victim was riding a black and red Honda VFR 400cc motorcycle. He was wearing a black and yellow bike jacket and a black helmet with a large red picture of an animal possibly a wolf.
