Hit and run girl fights for her life

Victim's mother appeals for witnesses to A4 accident

15 year old Nicky Walsh is fighting for her life after a hit-and-run attack.

The victim, from Hammersmith, remains in a critical condition after being hit by a car on the westbound side of the A4 near the Hammersmith fly-over at 1.50am on Sunday October 30th.

Nicky had been out for the night at a friend's house and is believed to have been either on her way home or en route to another friend's home.

In addition to the Police appeal, Nicky's mother, Sharon Geoghegan, today issued a further appeal to the public to find the driver of the car that hit her daughter.

She said "Nicky is a really high spirited girl who will do anything for anyone. She is very keen on keep fit and likes listening to music. She is a fun girl to have around and has an infectious laugh. She is a very loving outgoing girl who has lots of friends.

“This is obviously a very difficult time for all of us and her brother (16) and sister (10) are devastated. My family have been with me since the accident and they are all devastated by this as she is a big part of all their lives. Her father has flown in from New Zealand and other family are flying in from Ireland, including her 86 year old Great Grandmother.

Someone other than the driver of the car that didn't stop must know about this incident or new damage to a car. Please come forward if you know anything, no matter how trivial. Since this has happened, I feel that I have a constant hole in my heart."

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 8563 1212.
