Traffic Tuesday evening between Chiswick Roundabout and Kew Bridge

Brentford and Chiswick have suffered again with heavy traffic this Tuesday evening (10 May) due to a fuel spillage on the A4.

The Great West Road was closed between Chiswick Roundabout and Ealing Road as emergency services dealt with the problem.

Traffic was heavy and slow moving on all approaches to Chiswick Roundabout as a result of the closure and queued northbound on Chiswick High Road from Kew Bridge to Chiswick Roundabout with queues back to Mortlake Road and Kew Road through to Chalkers Corner. In addition the A406 southbound was slow moving with queues beyond Ealing Common.

Westbound traffic was also slow moving on Chiswick High Road and traffic later built up on the A4 westbound approach to Chiswick Roundabout and M4 traffic was also slow moving towards Hogarth Roundabout.

The road was reopened at around 8pm.

Traffic earlier in morning rush hour was also affected after a lorry got stuck on the Hogarth Flyover.
