Acton Cafe Owner Dies With Son In Road Accident


Motorcyclist came off bike on Gunnersbury Avenue

A 35 year old motorcyclist and a ten year old boy were killed on Gunnersbury Avenue in the early hours of Monday 12th August.

They have been name of Juan da Silva, aged 35, and his 10 year old son Pablo. They had been attending a barbeque at his cafe in Acton and were on their way back to their home in Hayes when the accident occurred.

Mr. da Silva was originally from Venezuela took over running the cafe in February with his wife Lucy. They are believed to have another son aged 4.

The accident took place at around 1.50am near the junction with Park Place. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Scotland Yard said they were appealing for witnesses. She said, “Enquires in the circumstances of the collision are being carried out by the Road Death Investigation Unit. At this early stage it is believed no other vehicles were involved.”
