A40 closure causes traffic problems across West London
Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the eastbound section of the Westway (A40) this morning (10 November).
Officers were called at around 6.15am to reports of a road traffic collision on the eastbound carriageway of the Westway (A40), near the junction with the A219 which leads to Shepherd's Bush.
An Air Ambulance also attended the scene.
One man, believed aged in his sixties, the rider of a motorcycle, has been taken to a central hospital for treatment to injuries - he is in a critical condition. There are no reports of any other injuries.
The Westway is likely to remain closed eastbound at the junction with the A219 for much of the rest of the day. Diversions are in place and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible. The closure has had a knock on effect across West London with delays reported on the North Circular and the A4.
