Brentford's alternative to Boris Bikes grows close to home

A new Brompton bicycle dock is in place at Turnham Green Tube Station.

The cycle hire scheme lets people hire a Brompton folding bike for both long and short-term hire for around £2.50 a day. The scheme also allows the property owner, in this case TfL, to generate and retain revenue from the hires.

Councillor Amrit Mann, deputy leader and cabinet member for environment, Hounslow Council, said: “We are backing this bicycle hire scheme – it’s typical of Brompton to come up with a simple and effective product – no wonder they are an international success story.”

The Turnham Green launch is part of a fast growing national network, which is accessible to all Brompton Bike Hire members.
