Bluebird Restaurant to Open in Television Centre on Wood Lane

Favourite haunt of Made in Chelsea crowd comes to Shepherd's Bush

Bluebird, the favourite haunt of the Made in Chelsea crowd on King's Road, is coming to Television Centre on Wood Lane.

Restaurant group D&D London has announced it is launching a second restaurant in the redevelopment of the former BBC Television Centre on Wood Lane, after striking a deal with property developer Stanhope.

Like the original Bluebird in Chelsea, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the new venue promises to be a large site, totalling 5,000 square feet, with a café, bar, deli and outdoor terrace.

At Television Centre, it will join a new branch of private members' club Soho House, along with a 47 bedroom Soho House hotel with restaurants and a rooftop swimming pool and terrace.

Des Gunewardena, D&D CEO, said: “We have over the years received countless approaches to open more Bluebirds, we have however always said no. But when Stanhope approached us we said yes. Why?

“Firstly because of the growing success of Bluebird Chelsea especially after its recent relaunch. And secondly because we think the exciting new development of Television Centre in White City is a great location to start what I hope will become a significant expansion of Bluebird Cafes in the next few years.”

The new Bluebird is expected to launch by the end of this year.
